Labour Party Sell ‘Sparkle With Starmer’ T-Shirts In Glitter Protest Spin

The Labour Party is selling novelty “Sparkle With Starmer” t-shirts, seizing on the widely broadcasted glitter protest that targeted Labour leader Keir Starmer during his speech on Tuesday at the party conference.

The interruption came from activist Yaz Ashmawi of People Demand Democracy, who rushed the stage proclaiming the need for electoral reform. Rather unfazed, Starmer, still shimmering with glitter, continued his address, emphasising the party’s transformational aims.

In the hours that followed, Labour Party members and activists embraced the moment, creatively spinning the phrase “sparkle with Starmer” to claim the scenario.

By Wednesday morning the party unveiled “limited edition” t-shirts that were available for pre-order at £20 each on its website.

The merchandise promotion touts the merchandise as designed to commemorate what it describes as the “glittering reception” Starmer received during his address.

The proceeds from sales will be earmarked to bolster the campaign coffers, propelling Labour’s ambitions to form the next government.
