Lindsey Graham Calls Out Trump and Pelosi’s ‘Sophomoric’ Cancelation of Each Others Events

In response to President Donald Trump canceling Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s planned trip overseas, Sen. Lindsey Graham came out swing against the two of them.
“One sophomoric response does not deserve another,” Graham tweeted. “Speaker Pelosi’s threat to cancel the State of the Union is very irresponsible and blatantly political. President Trump denying Speaker Pelosi military travel to visit our troops in Afghanistan, our allies in Egypt and NATO is also inappropriate.”
“I am glad the Speaker wants to meet our troops and hear from our commanders and allies. I am very disappointed she’s playing politics with the State of the Union. I wish our political leadership could find the same desire to work for common goals as those who serve our nation in uniform and other capacities,” he added.
Trump appears to have canceled the trip in response to Pelosi disinviting him from making his State of the Union address that was scheduled to take place later this month.
“Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the shutdown is over,” the letter states, saying she is free to fly commercial is she chooses.
The White House maintains Trump canceled the trip because if she had left, then it would ensure federal workers would miss another paycheck:
WH maintains that Pelosi’s trip was canceled because the timeline would guarantee federal workers would miss another paycheck and negotiations would not be able to occur
