WATCH: Live Stream Of Jodi Arias Sentencing Phase

Jodi Arias was found guilty on Tuesday, May 7, and now the trial continues through the sentencing phase, where Arias’ ultimate fate will be decided.

At issue is whether Arias’ killing of Travis Alexander was committed in an aggressively heinous manner. Arias said in an interview immediately following her sentencing that she would prefer the death penalty to life in prison.

First the trial will go through an “aggravating phase” to determine whether there was an aggravating factor, such as cruelty, in the way the first-degree was committed. Most analysts expect it will be easy for the prosecution to secure such a factor and move the trial into the death penalty phase.
