Donald Trump Wins Iowa
Iowa has six electoral votes.
As of Monday, the RealClearPolitics average of the most recent Iowa polls showed Trump ahead with a 3-point lead in a two-way race, and Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight gave Trump a 71.9% percent chance of winning the state.
The polls close at 9 p.m. local time (10 p.m. eastern). We will update with the reported results as soon as they come in.
Here’s how Iowa voted in the last four presidential elections:
2012: Democrat (52.0%)
2008: Democrat (53.9%)
2004: Republican (49.9%)
2000: Democrat (48.5%)
UPDATE 4:10 PM ET: According to Votecastr, Donald Trump holds a one-point lead, 46% to 45%, with 66.5 percent of expected voters having cast votes.
UPDATE 5:27 PM ET: Per latest Votecastr estimates, Clinton is now leading in the state, 47% to 44%.
UPDATE 11:39 PM ET: Fox News projects Donald Trump wins Iowa.
