JonBenét Ramsey’s Mother’s Horrifying 911 Call: ‘We Have a Kidnapping. Hurry. Please.’

CBS has released its first trailer for its new docu-series, The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey.

Almost twenty years later, the case of the killing of six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey, in which no murder charges were ever filed, is being revisited. The trailer opens with a frantic call from JonBenét’s mother Patsy to the police. She said to an operator, “We have a kidnapping…hurry, please…There’s a note left and our daughter’s gone.” Since December 26th, 1996, when she was found strangled in her family’s home, much of the case has remained a mystery.

Part of the focus of this video is on the operator who took Patsy’s call. She’s never been questioned by the authorities. “Twenty years, nobody asked me…I think it would have really turned the case around.”

Though more than 140 people have been questioned in connection with the killing, police don’t have many leads. In the trailer, one of the investigators says, “We want to get the truth out, so that JonBenét can rest in peace.” The series is attempting to shine new light on many aspects of the case, and to help with the investigation, the show’s team built a life-size replica of the family’s home where JonBenét lived and was found.

The series premieres September 18th on CBS.
