About That TIME Magazine ‘Liar in Chief’ Cover That’s All Over Twitter…
Contrary to what you might have seen on Twitter, it is highly unlikely that TIME Magazine went ahead and called President Trump the “Liar-in-Chief.”
If you’ve been perusing the interwebs this Sunday, then you might have noticed this image being circulated around.

It would seem that the cover references the ongoing investigations about Trump potential connections to Russia, as well as the testimony from James Comey about the president’s tendency to spread lies.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, lets have a little chat about this picture, shall we?
First of all, the photoshop here is not particularly good compared to previous TIME covers, even if they have been critical towards Trump before:

More importantly though, some people on Twitter looked at TIME’s online cover vault, and they noted that the cover with Trump being overshadowed by Putin is nowhere to be found:
I have been told by someone at Time that this cover is a fake https://t.co/axz1gXikwq

Instead, it seems that the next cover story will focus on Trump International Hotel in Washington.

UPDATE – 8:28 p.m. EST: Mediaite has heard from a TIME spokesperson, who confirmed that they did not publish the “liar-in-chief” cover image.
