NFL Suspends Ray Rice Indefinitely
After hours of fresh outrage following the release of a video showing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching out then-fiancée Janay Palmer in the elevator of an Atlantic City casino in February, the NFL has suspended Rice indefinitely:
Roger Goodell has announced that based on new video evidence that became available today he has
indefinitely suspended Ray Rice.

The league came under scathing criticism this summer when it suspended Rice two games for the incident, a paltry suspension both on its own and in comparison with punishments handed down for offenses like smoking weed. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has since apologized for the punishment and reformed the league’s domestic abuse policy.
Rice was cut by the Ravens just a few minutes ago, essentially making him a free agent. However, he will be unable to sign to a new team if he’s under suspension.
