Campaign Ad “Re-Enacts” David Vitter’s Prostitution Scandal

Democrat Charlie Melancon has unveiled a new episode of Forgotten Crimes, his hit reality series/ad campaign of which Republican opponent David Vitter is always the star. This edition, titled “Lawmaker/Lawbreaker,” highlights Vitter’s sexual scandals and even features a “crime scene re-enactment” of the senator’s encounter with a hooker.

After a somber summary of Sen. Vitter’s involvement in the “D.C. Madam” scandal, the otherwise colorful two-minute video offers a black-and-white re-enactment of Vitter’s alleged encounter with a more local hooker. The scene was accompanied by the following narration from the “former French Quarter prostitute” that Vitter is said to have hired:

He went in. Took a shower. Spoke very little to me at first. He did his thing. He wasn’t there [for] 15-20 minutes at that. I was $300.

Was that a slight dig at Vitter’s sexual prowess? Judge for yourself:

Just doing his part to uphold “family values.”

  • The Real Royal King

You can’t say Vitter doesn’t deserve it. The deviant and hypocrite!

    Must be republican.

I could go that long without Viagra

    Where are all Vitter’s defenders?

They are running away like cockroaches. Republicans don’t like it when the light is shined on their family values hypocracy.

For conservatives personal conduct does not have to correspond with public message. It is was makes them such loathsome people.

    I loathe Vitter.

I think the ad is great.

I also think it would probably get honors as a SNL skit.

    It is that funny :)

so you people expect commenters to jump in and say, no it’s cool? I’m suprised you aren’t reaching for the gold and saying this is why prostitution should be legalized and that Repubs would go for it. Seems like your outrage should be for law enforcement or Congress, or atleast specific to the man himself.

or is this just a gotcha? a ‘point and laugh’ at a group you see as the enemy? it would be better if you broad-stroked politicians as opposed to a particular group of them. most or alot of Politicians = scumbags

Why should we not be surprised that Dem was mentioned despite this being a good ol’ Family Values boy from Lousiana (LA). Bless him, even had prostitutes in both DC and LA. Even had an adult diaper fetish.

And before you Spitzer me, I get it and I don’t approve of him.

I do, however, point out that the Republicans seem to have men on “Family Values” platforms, casting stones from their glass houses: (Gingrich, Guiliani, Vitter, Ensign, Foley, Sanford, Souder, Mehlman, (old-school Dan) Burton, etc.)

And that list (aside from Foley) doesn’t include Republicans associated with child porn, rape, etc.

While I agree most politicians = scumbags, if you’re a politician who adheres to a “family values” party, when you’re caught with a prostitute, it’s a bigger deal than if you’re a member of a party that doesn’t push “family values.” It’s irony, it’s social commentary, it’s pointing out hypocrisy, it’s calling out the “do as I say, not as I do” authoritarians. And, yes, it’s fun :)

Didn’t they kill that madame before she turned over her black book with countless presumably Democrat names?

Am I going to be the first conservative person to denounce Vitter’s dalliances with ladies of ill repute? In all honesty, I cannot–and shall not–attempt to make a defense on his behalf. It’s not that I have never made bad choices in my life; I most certainly have made too many, and I am to this day sorry for my bad choices. That said, I am always left to wonder why I never hear a liberal denounce the scurrilous actions and deeds of their own. Is there some reason why liberals are somehow immune from being held accountable–and being denounced by members of their party–when they are guilty of immoral, unethical, and even criminal activities? Is there some inconsistency here? Don’t we ALL want the very best government we can possibly have? Don’t we ALL demand that those whom we choose to represent us be the embodiment of our ideals? Don’t we ALL realize that we shall inevitably have the worst possible government that we will tolerate?

    That is the point.

Nobody cares if you have an affair.
Don’t preach family values, and have an affair!

Once again, you conservatards own yourselves.

Yes, some suggest she was murdered, but not “over her black book with countless presumably Democrat names.”

More like (possibly) Dick Cheeny. She was found dead in 2008.

So, you’re saying I should become a liberal democrat because THEN I’d have the built in excuse of constantly declaring “Of course I cheated on my wife and did other shady things. That’s the beauty of being a democrat! You NEVER have to apologize for being a scumbag!”

Yeah, the “morality” of the left — such as Clinton getting blowjobs in the Oval Office or making an intern masturbate with a cigar while sitting on his desk — are SUCH standards we should all aspire to. There’s no loathsomeness there either!
