CO Police Respond to Reports of Active Shooter at Planned Parenthood Clinic
Colorado Springs police responded this afternoon to reports of an active shooter at a Planned Parenthood facility:

The shooter has reportedly barricaded himself inside the building.

UPDATE –– 6:17 pm EST: A police presser late this afternoon confirmed a few details: the shooting began in the Planned Parenthood building and the shooter brought several items into the building. There are an unknown number of casualties at this point. Lt. Catherine Buckley declined to speculate on the shooter’s motives.
UPDATE –– 7:11 pm EST: The suspect is now in police custody after reportedly surrendering. A police press conference afterwards clarified that eleven were injured, five were officers, and all of them have gone to hospitals.
UPDATE –– 8:06 pm EST: There are now reports that two people have died––one officer and one civilian.
UPDATE –– 9:07 pm EST: Police have now confirmed that one officer and two civilians have died.
UPDATE –– 9:41 pm EST: There is a vehicle in the parking lot believed to be the shooter’s that authorities are checking for explosives.
UPDATE –– 9:49 pm EST: The officer who was killed has been identified by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs as 44-year-old Garrett Swasey. They also released this image of him:
