Conservative Twitter Relentlessly Mocks ‘[Omitted]’ Parts of Orlando 911 Transcript
The FBI today released a transcript of the Orlando shooter’s 911 transcript, but they redacted his references to ISIS. Previous news reports made it clear he pledged his allegiance to ISIS, so the administration’s arguments that they don’t want to help spread propaganda might be moot.
Now, the idea of censoring these references––whatever the intentions––plays right into conservative arguments that President Obama and his administration are too politically correct in fighting the war on terror and are refusing to be more honest about the fact that radical Islamic terrorists are waging war with the West.
But for now, conservative Twitter had a field day relentlessly mocking the omissions:
