Diamond And Silk Complain That One of Their Private Facebook Posts is Not Getting Views

Over the past week, pro-Trump vloggers and frequent Fox News guests Diamond and Silk have been in the news as they’ve accused Facebook of discriminating against them due to their conservative commentary. With Republican lawmakers and conservative media taking up their case in recent days, it would appear that Diamond and Silk have perhaps been misleading the public over the whole controversy.
Erick Erickson and The Daily Beast have already reported that the Trump-loving duo wasn’t telling the truth earlier this week when they claimed Facebook didn’t contact them over their complaints as employees of the social media platform sent D&S multiple emails and called their personal phone. It now seems that the media personalities are trying to pass off a private Facebook post as proof that they aren’t getting sufficient engagement on their 1.4 million-follower strong Facebook page.
Starting last night and continuing on through today, the pair has sent out screenshots of a Facebook post they made in which they call on others to share their stories about social media censorship, claiming that Facebook’s algorithms have caused only a handful of people to see the post.
Hey Y’all. If you don’t believe that censorship on Facebook exist, take a look. This post has been up for one hour & only reached 5 people out of 1.5 Million Followers. There are still Algorithms on our page where our followers still can’t see certain post that’s visible to us. pic.twitter.com/751XKqNUFg

After 2 hours, this post only reached 6 people even though we have 1.5 Million followers on @facebook. This is deliberate censorship and a clear example of how Facebook Algorithms suppress conservative platforms. pic.twitter.com/YfI0c3b9VU

3 hrs and counting. Facebook only allowed this post to reach 6 people even though we have 1.5 Million followers. Point proven! Censorship at its finest…. pic.twitter.com/2ABfs47EAx

Good morning all. It’s been 13 hrs and still no change. We have 1.5 Million followers and @facebook only allowed this FB post to reach 6 people. Question to Facebook.
1. What is wrong with this specific post and why can’t we boost it?
2. Why are we still being censored? pic.twitter.com/ubV0YmZCcn— Diamond and Silk® (@DiamondandSilk) April 13, 2018
The thing is, all one has to do is actually go to Diamond and Silk’s page and see that the post they are whining about isn’t publicly available. In fact, the appearance of the “Boost Unavailable” button in the screenshot is likely a dead giveaway. Scroll down, and you don’t see it anywhere on the page. Meanwhile, the posts they recently published claiming that post had been censored have been shared thousands of times and received tens of thousands of reactions.
ThinkProgress’s Judd Legum — who published a piece yesterday noting that traffic analytics show Diamond and Silk’s page is receiving far more interaction than similar-sized left-leaning ones — pointed out today on Twitter that the vloggers may be willfully deceiving folks.
This post is not publicly available on their page. I’m beginning to think that these women may not be on the level?
We could dialogue on this but Diamond and Silk have blocked me https://t.co/KXeJwXbGJH pic.twitter.com/tdGNosSlA0

Diamond and Silk are not being censored on Facebook. This recent post of them smiling has 2200 shares and 41K reactions, which is an absurd amount of engagement for 2 people smiling and saying have a good day. https://t.co/KXeJwXbGJH pic.twitter.com/DSaWza8WNG

I don’t really care that Diamond and Silk are not being honest about this but members of the United States Congress have accepted this as fact and are using it to try to pressure Facebook to change their policies and further expose conservative content https://t.co/KXeJwXbGJH

So you’re telling me a pair of social media personalities are possibly being disingenuous in order to gain more notice on their social media platforms? Well, knock me over with a feather.
