Technically Massa had already quit Congress by the time he sat down with Glenn Beck for a live interview on March 9, but if he was hoping for any career in politics after the tickle-scandal to end all tickle-scandals, he lost it after his bizarre and amazing interview. There's a reason this is the only live TV interview on this list - these types of train-wreckingly bad interviews just doesn't happen. David Paterson vs. New York Times - Career-ending? No. In one of the stranger roll-outs ever to take place, the New York Times found themselves writing about their impending-doom profile of New York Governor David Paterson even before they had published part 1. The profile itself - actually in three parts (and then more) - ended up less bombshell and more politics-as-usual...especially for an Albany politician. In our sole new media takedown on the list, Helen Thomas found herself in early (well, late, really) retirement after a YouTube video was published of her telling Jews to go back to Poland and Germany. No. His freewheeling (that's putting it mildly) interview with Playboy landed him in hot water and he took a Twitter break and reevaluated his sex life honesty. I’m going to start dating separately from my dick.") Thankfully, we now have the phrase "sexual napalm" in our lives. But ultimately, Palin turned the tide for many in the Republican party - it was Couric's fault, and the fault of the liberal lamestream media. And she's succeeded far beyond many people's wildest imaginations. Did the interview destroy her political career? Probably not (although it may have signaled the beginning of the end of John McCain's campaign). Maybe she never jumps back in the political arena, she certainly doesn't have to as her other careers are thriving, but if she ever wanted to, she'd probably succeed there too.
