Glenn Beck: Breitbart Has Become Pravda, ‘Looks Like They’re in Full-on Collapse’
Conservative radio host and The Blaze owner Glenn Beck weighed in on the exodus of staff from competitor Breitbart, saying the site was in complete meltdown mode and offering to hire anyone who quit.
Beck praised former Brietbart editor-at-large Ben Shapiro, saying that with his resignation he was living up to Andrew Breitbart‘s original vision. “Ben is standing up for what Brietbart would have said today. He would not be in bed with Donald Trump.”
The radio host placed the blame for Breitbart’s collapse on executive Steve Bannon. “He thinks he’s the greatest guy since sliced bread,” Beck argued. “He wants to be Karl Rove and Roger Ailes and everybody else. He wants to be a kingmaker, and he thinks the best shortcut is to just hand Breitbart over to Donald Trump.”
Beck hinted that two more Breitbart employees would gone by the end of the day, and offered to hire anyone else who quit on principle. “There’s beginning to be a mass exodus at Breitbart, because the reporters and journalists are saying, ‘Enough is enough. None of this is true. None of this stuff we’re doing is true.’”
Beck also said there would have been an exodus from The Drudge Report as well, but they only had three staffers. “All these other guys are becoming Pravda,” he said, alluded to the former newspaper and state mouthpiece of the Soviet Union. “I think it’s going to collapse them. I mean, Breitbart looks like it’s in full-on collapse.”
