GOP Impeachment Chatter Hands Democrats $1 Million Fundraising Day
Talk of impeaching President Barack Obama, which gained steam when Sarah Palin gave voice to it three weeks ago, has started reaping dividends for the Democrats.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Steve Israel (D-NY) said Tuesday that Republican musing about impeachment and House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) planned lawsuit against Obama over the delaying of the ACA individual mandate had compelled Democratic voters to donate. According to Israel, the DCCC raised $1 million on Monday alone:
Yesterday the @DCCC had our single biggest online fundraising day of the cycle bringing in more than $1m from more than 50k donations.

The NRCC appears to be getting the message that impeachment talk is a cash cow for Democrats:
At House GOP meeting, NRCC chairman Walden told members that Dems raised $2m by hyping impeachment. So don't help them.

Tuesday morning Boehner dismissed impeachment talk as a “scam” perpetrated by the White House and congressional Democrats for the purposes of, you guessed it, fundraising.
