GOP Rep. Suggests Trump Might Be a Democratic Mole: ‘Very Suspicious’
Donald Trump‘s presidential run hasn’t exactly done the GOP any favors, as the media coverage of the 2016 election has been dominated for weeks by almost 24/7 Trump coverage. This has the side effect of giving the Democrats a pretty decent boost.
And there’s a Republican member of Congress with, well, a conspiracy theory of sorts about Trump:
Conversé con @ahoraoscarhaza por @z92miami sobre absurdos comentarios de @realDonaldTrump y ofrecí me teoría de que es un candidato fantasma

That tweet roughly translates to “I spoke to @ahoraoscarhaza on @z92miami about Donald Trump’s absurd comments and offered my theory that he is a phantom candidate.”
Yes, just a few days ago, Florida Republican Carlos Curbelo said in Spanish-Language interviews that he thinks Trump’s a liberal mole:
“I think there’s a small possibility that this gentleman is a phantom candidate. Mr. Trump has a close friendship with Bill and Hillary Clinton. They were at his last wedding. He has contributed to the Clintons’ foundation. He has contributed to Mrs. Clinton’s Senate campaigns. All of this is very suspicious.”
He also condemned Trump’s “disgusting and unnecessary rhetoric” on immigrants, and suggested on Twitter this wouldn’t be the first time Democrats attempted such a tactic:
Crazy conspiracy theory? Ask @DCCC about their role in a CRIMINAL scheme for a straw candidate in SF http://t.co/u1DWF3IkF4 @PatriciaMazzei
