Gov. David Paterson’s X-Rated Gaffe: Accidentally Praises “Race To The Cock”

VIDEO

New York Gov. David Paterson, after all those supposed bombshells in the New York Times earlier this year, found himself mostly out of the news lately except for a World Series ticket flap here and Park 51 news item there. Unluckily for him and luckily for those who like unfortunate televised slip-ups, though, that just changed.

Paterson released a statement today happily announcing his state received almost $700 million in Race to the Top educational stimulus funding. He also gave a speech on the matter, seemingly similar to the linked statement. However, when he reaches the part where he thanks President Barack Obama and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan “for coming up with the Race to the Top concept,” he jumbled his words at a very inopportune time, and out came “Race to the Cock.”

We detect a couple winces and suppressed smiles in those surrounding Paterson, but frankly, they all deserve major credit for keeping it together as well as they did. It’s safe to say this is not the return to the spotlight the governor would have liked, and the “Race to the Cock” is not a program Obama and Duncan will appreciate being credited with inventing.

Considering his history, I surprised he didn’t say ‘ coke ‘.

I think you’ve made a mistake here. Certainly this comment came from the former governor (now a CNN host).

Maybe it was spelled incorrectly on the teleprompter.

Just shows you what is on the mind of the womanizing and partying David Paterson.
David Paterson should be in the circus – he should not be governor. Paterson has no ability to govern whatsoever.
However, as we all know too well, Paterson proved long ago that he could not govern. “The Democratic Conference: Organizational and Operational Structure Report” is an eyewitness account of Paterson’s and his crew’s INCOMPETENCE and DYSFUNCTIONAL governing nature while Senate Minority Leader.

Paterson’s office was criticized for PATRONAGE, LACK OF LEADERSHIP, INDECISIVENESS and INFIGHTING. Those interviewed in the report indicated that its chief of staff the disorganized Michael Jones-Bey had no management skills, would booze it up with staff, often coming in the office with a hangover, and should be fired.
Amazingly, for running such a DYSFUNCTIONAL CHAOTIC office, the disorganized Michael Jones-Bey was picked by Paterson to mismanage the Division of Minority & Women Owned Business Development (MWBE) at Empire State Development Corporation.
Now that’s the Paterson Way – being rewarded for your incompetence.
New Yorkers do not deserve to be punished any further by David Paterson’s presence.
    David Paterson should RESIGN NOW.

Serves you right, fellow alumnus, David.

When I learned the outrageous number of hours you have to devote to MEMORIZING just one speech, I TAPE RECORDED AND MAILED an invitation to you offering, ABSOLUTELY FREE, to visit Albany and teach you an utterly-SIMPLE substitute which YOU COULD USE IMMEDIATELY (as I did when I first conceived the idea). Not only did you not accept, but also, no one got back to me with a YES or NO.

You rude, ignorant, self-centered SOB, you could have avoided all such ridiculous gaffes. Here’s expecting lots more before you are, for us, but particularly you, blessedly “euthanized.”
