House Committee Releases Another Internal IRS Training Video Spoofing The Apprentice

The House Ways and Means Committee investigating the Internal Revenue Service released yet another video produced internally for training purposes. Released on Friday by CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson, the latest video spoofs the reality television program The Apprentice and cost $10,000 to produce. Attkisson reports, however, that the video was never shown because the conference it was intended for was cancelled.

The video features a number of IRS employees, their identities concealed from the public. The video was shot with the intention of being shown at the SB/SE Virtual Leadership CPE conference in 2011.

This video is another in a series of expensive training videos which lawmakers have said are examples of chronic “waste and abuse” within the IRS:

Previously, lawmakers in both parties were outraged that the IRS had a video production team with a multimillion dollar budget, and had spent roughly $60,000 to produce a pair of parody videos inspired by “Star Trek” and “Gilligan’s Island.”

The House Oversight Committee held a June hearing on high price tags for IRS conferences, including the parody videos. No hearings are in the works for the latest Trump-themed segment.
