How to Watch the Oscars via Live Stream

maxresdefaultOnce again the eyes of the entertainment world will focus squarely on Hollywood, as the 89th Academy Awards takes place hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The venerable awards show returns to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California with one of the most highly-anticipated selections of film nominees in recent memory.

Just like last year, ABC will carry the telecast for both the Red Carpet showcase — which begins at 7 p.m. EST — as well as the awards show itself, which kicks off at 8:30 p.m. EST. According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the broadcast of the event will be televised in more than 220 countries and territories around the world.

For people looking to experience the Oscars on the internet, cable or satellite subscribers can watch along online at ABCgo and the ABC.com app. There are also regional restrictions to cable subscribers regarding digital access, only for people in the following markets: Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, and San Francisco. Additionally, DirecTV subscribers will be able to live-stream the event: Albuquerque, Boston, Ft. Smith/Fayetteville, Jackson (Mississippi), Kansas City, Milwaukee, Monterey-Salinas, Oklahoma City, Omaha, Pittsburgh, Portland-Auburn (Maine), Savannah, and West Palm Beach.
