Inside the White House Press Corps: The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld
I first met The Advocate’s Kerry Eleveld last spring, following a White House briefing in which I pressed Robert Gibbs about the “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” discharge of Lt. Dan Choi.
Ironically, on the day of our interview for Inside the White House Press Corps, Lt. Choi handcuffed himself to the White House fence, an act that underscored the snail’s pace this issue has taken.
As a reporter for a LGBT outlet, Kerry offered some very different insights into White House coverage, the state of journalism, Lt. Choi’s arrest, and our mutual pal, Lester Kinsolving.
