It’s ‘What We Were All Thinking’: CNN’s Cillizza Defends Cooper Rolling Eyes at Conway
I got to make this GIF for @CillizzaCNN‘s story. BY FAR the most fun I’ll have at work all week. #blessed https://t.co/nHwx3E5Rpm pic.twitter.com/qamcaHwKgb

During a (rare!) interview last night, Kellyanne Conway deftly deflected from the subjects of the Russia investigation and the firing of James Comey by bringing up how Donald Trump won Michigan in November of 2016.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper rolled his eyes at her. Factions of the Internet cheered. Now, though, he’s getting support from one of his colleagues. One of CNN’s newer high-profile hires, Chris Cillizza, penned a defense of Cooper today because, well, it’s “what we were all thinking”:
“When asked about the ongoing Russia investigation — or any other topic they’d rather not talk about — the Trump White House insists there is no point in ‘relitigating’ the past,” wrote Cillizza, who then provided some examples. “The problem with that defense is that Trump loves to relitigate the past — in particular the 2016 election. During an interview to mark his 100th day in office, Trump handed out electoral maps with the counties he won marked in red. At his 100 day speech in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania he went on a long tangent about how no one thought he could win Pennsylvania and then he did.”
Cillizza pronounced an eyeroll the “right response” to that hypocrisy.
