Ivanka and Jared Reportedly Pointed Fingers at John Kelly for NYT Op-Ed: ‘He’s Destroying Your Presidency’

In the aftermath of the New York Times anonymous op-ed and Trump-damaging Woodward book, White House power couple Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump reportedly pointed fingers directly at one of their favorite foes, chief of staff John Kelly.

With all the dripping leaks around the West Wing, Kushner and First Daughter Trump have tried to contain the situation themselves. They also have been telling President Donald Trump that Kelly is to blame for “destroying” Trump’s presidency.

According to Vanity Fair:

Earlier this week, they told Trump they were deeply troubled by the accounts in Woodward’s book and blamed Chief of Staff John Kelly for many of the leaks, an outside adviser close to them told me. “‘He’s destroying your presidency,’” Ivanka told her father, the outside adviser, who was briefed on the conversation, said. Their hunt for the author of the Times op-ed may bring them into the final chapter of their long-running feud with Kelly.

Javanka also suggested Kelly was responsible for the New York Times op-ed, although they blame Kelly’s deputy, Zachary Fuentes, for doing the actual writing.

The couple also is reportedly convinced Kelly’s massive ego is behind the whole thing.

As the Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman notes, “Jared and Ivanka have told people they suspect this because Kelly is the only one with an ego so large as to have convinced himself that he’s saving the country from Trump, which was one of the op-ed’s principal arguments.”

President Trump, however, remains unconvinced that Kelly is behind the op-ed. Yet, the search for the anonymous author continues and according to the New York Times, the White House has compiled a list of 12 suspects.

The White House has denied the list exists.
