Jeb Bush’s New PAC Website Pretends George W. Bush Never Existed

 

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush launched his new leadership PAC Tuesday morning, the most aggressive move by any potential 2016 candidate yet. The PAC’s website is long on encomiums to the American Dream and Jeb’s accomplishments as governor. It lists his various books and titles. It certainly finds space to name his father, former President George H.W. Bush. It lists his own children and grandchildren.

One thing it does not mention: His ex-president brother.

Though George W. Bush‘s approval ratings have recuperated slightly from their second-term lows, 43 remains unpopular, tarred with the Iraq War and 2008 financial collapse. The latter, in fact, is the only even tertiary gesture toward Jeb’s brother, as George W. Bush’s second term is tagged, perhaps unintentionally, in the following critique of the American economy:

Only three months ago Bush boasted he had “stopped worrying” about the baggage associated with the Bush brand. His PAC, however, sees no need to refresh anybody’s memory.
