Kim Kardashian is Headed to the White House Today

If the Trump White House really is an overblown reality TV show, then think of this as a crossover.
Kim Kardashian will reportedly meet with President Trump and Jared Kushner today for a chat about prison reform. Kushner has recently pushed Congress to consider policies to help inmates re-acclimatize to society, and since his father previously spent time in prison for tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions and witness tampering, the president’s son-in-law clearly has a vested interest in the matter.
According to Vanity Fair, Kardashian will present her prison reform argument to Trump by invoking the story of Alice Johnson, a 62-year-old great-grandmother serving a life sentence without parole over a nonviolent drug offense. Johnson’s story moved Kardashian when she first heard about it on Twitter, and the socialite said earlier this month that she will ask Trump to commute Johnson’s sentence during their meeting today.
Per Vanity Fair, “White House staffers have joked about who will get to accompany her to the West Wing, and what they should wear for the occasion.”
“I’ve been in communication with the White House and trying to bring her case to the president’s desk and figure out how we can get her out,” said Kardashian. “That’s such a huge step from where we started with that not even being on their radar.”
So…yeah. As weird as this might seem, it was probably inevitable ever since Kanye West, Kardashian’s husband, went on his full throttle, pro-MAGA screed several weeks ago. West is not expected to attend today’s events, however.
