Michael Moore Celebrates 5M Twitter Followers By Donating Money To ‘Anti-Trump’ Causes

Senate Democratic Leader, Chuck Schumer, recently said that the Democrats need to do a better job at articulating a clear message to the American people on what they stand for. Simply being anti-Trump is not good enough, according to Schumer.

“When you lose to somebody who has 40 percent popularity, you don’t blame other things — Comey, Russia — you blame yourself … So what did we do wrong? People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump. And still believe that,” Schumer said.

Film maker, social justice warrior and liberal provocateur Michael Moore does not seem to agree with the Senator’s sentiments.

Moore recently passed the five million followers mark on Twitter. To celebrate the milestone, he announced that he would be choosing five followers and donating $1,000 each to the anti-Trump group of their choice.

“5 million+ Twitter followers! Wow! Thank u! To celebrate, I picked 5 of you to choose an anti-Trump group for me to donate $1,000 to…,” Moore said on Sunday night.

Moore immediately announced the lucky winners and requested “which group fighting Trump” they wished to have the money donated to.

Moore’s announcement was hardly his first effort to express his displeasure with the White House or impede the Presidency of Donald Trump.

Two weeks ago, Moore began rehearsals for his one-man Broadway show, “The Terms of My Surrender,” which is expected to essentially be nothing more than a few hours of Moore alone on stage bashing President Trump.

Moore told The New York Times in May that his play is a satirical take on a “country that’s just elected a madman — I mean, there’s really no other way to put it.”

In late June, Moore announced that he would be donating $10,000 – the advance for his Broadway show – to the Public Theater program after corporate sponsors pulled out following the depiction of the assassination of a character resembling President Trump during a presentation of Julius Caesar.

Earlier this year, Moore launched an online calendar to track anti-Trump events around the world.

The “Resistance Calendar” was designed to allow anyone to add an anti-Trump event happening at any location at any time.
