Nancy Pelosi: “The Democrats Will Retain Majority In The House”

video

Nancy Pelosi appeared on CNN’s State of the Union this weekend, and was asked about the current political climate by host Candy Crowley, specifically how the Democrats would do at the mid-term elections next Fall. Pelosi confidently averred that she would maintain her role as Speaker of House, saying “the Democrats will retain majority in the House of Representatives.” Is this confidence come from solid research and polling data? Or is it an example of hubris on the part of the Speaker. Either way, its likely something for the cablers to debate.

Pelosi thinks you can fool all the people all the time. San Francisco is not like the rest of the country.

I do think if there were viable alternatives, Pelosi would be proven incorrect. As it is, people are going to vote en masses for Republican candidates? I don’t think so.

The bums will be thrown out “en masse”.

    Shhh, don’t tell pelosi that……

How moronic, Jeff. The rest of the country is not like the rest of the country. Texas voters are different than Maine voters, South Carolina different than Seattle. That’s why these generic polls mean nothing, absolutely nothing. The bums seldom get thrown out. Some day you’ll add something to a discussion and most of us will pass out.

    Delusional.

I think the Botox has seeped into her brain.

And King, that’s exactly why I bolted from Seattle. Everytime there is a loony left story, I know before I even look that it’s coming out of Seattle. It’s too bad, because it’s really beautiful.

Eh… this is one of those “what did you expect her to say?” instances. Is it really reasonable to think she’d come out and say, “The polls really are trending away from Democrats… we’ll probably lose a lot of seats.” Nah… she’s a politician, they can’t say that. I wouldn’t expect a coach to tell his team, “We’re probably going to lose today, they’re much better than us,” that’s an unrealistic, and (to a degree) inappropriate level of pessimism.

Pelosi may be wrong, and a lot of the polls seem to reflect that (despite what some “true believers” may want to believe), but I don’t think what she said was too surprising for a politician.

I think the San Francisco hate by some people is absolutely ludicrous. Calling yourselves patriots yet at the same time absolutely despise a great part of America. Talk about faux-patriotism.

Her pal Harry Reid is losing by 10 points in the polls. Pelosi should be seeing the handwriting on the wall.

I’ll remind you of this next time someone on this site and the left insults Southerners. And BTW… which is a “greater part of America,” one city, or an entire half of the country?

    Hypocrisy much?
