Netflix Postpones Upcoming Bill Cosby Special Amidst Rape Allegations
Netflix has shelved a planned Bill Cosby special after weeks of Cosby being front-page news for rape allegations from multiple women. Some of these accusations have circulated for years, but they reached a fever pitch in the past month after comedian Hannibal Buress brought it up during his stand-up.
Netflix was set to release Bill Cosby 77 later this month, on November 28th (Cosby’s 77th birthday). The special was already taped, but now they’re postponing it. Now, Netflix did not say they’re pulling it completely, so it’s possible they may release Cosby’s special at a later date.
Cosby is also working with NBC on a sitcom that would mark his return to television. But the renewed focus on these rape accusations not puts a very big question mark over that project and how long it will take NBC to publicly comment.
