Dr. Carlisle Cullen: Dr. Sanjay Gupta
The doctor is in! Handsome CNN correspondent Sanjay will cure whatever ails you, and so will Forks’ resident vamp doctor — practically a male model, according to Stephenie Meyer. (Vampires are a good-looking bunch.) We don’t know if Gupta has fangs, but if he does we’re sure they gleam, too.
Esme Cullen: Ann Curry
Compassionate as she is caring, Today’s Ann Curry is a dead ringer for Esme Cullen, the warm, empathetic mama bear of the vampiric Cullen clan (and Carlisle’s doting wife.) We can totally picture Ann shaking her head with worry over Alice and Jasper’s shenanigans or worrying if Bella will get in more werewolf trouble – again. Aw.
Emmett Cullen: Shepard Smith
Good ol’boy Shep reminds us most of Emmett Cullen, perhaps the first jock vampire ever depicted in literary history. (Although Shep has lots more brain power than Emmett, bless him.) Emmett is an adoptive member of the Cullen clan, having been rescued from death by mauling bear; Shep is often seen as the adoptive son of Fox News, not quite sharing the network’s DNA. We’re not sure who the bear is in this scenario, but Glenn Beck could probably come up with something.
Alice Cullen: Robin Roberts
Empathetic and understanding – and clairvoyant – vampire Alice plays a chic, understanding best friend to Bella Swan’s protaganist. The always calm, cool Robin Roberts – a refreshing breath of calm in the often over-caffeinated Good Morning America line-up – feels like a natural counterpart.
Edward Cullen: Anderson Cooper
They’re both handsome. Sexy. Unobtainable. And they both garner obsession from middle-aged hausfraus. Who has created more of a media stir than Robert Pattinson (those eyes! That hair!) — or, really, Anderson Cooper (those eyes! That hair!)? Cooper sprang immediately to mind when we thought of casting this eternally youthful succubus. And just like Edward Cullen, Anderson makes our heart do backflips.
