NYPD Cops Turn Their Backs to Mayor de Blasio as He Enters Police Press Conference
Today, a group of New York City police officers decided to let New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio know exactly how they felt about him in the wake of the execution-style shootings of officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos while sitting in a patrol car in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York.
The officers were ambushed by a man now identified as Ismaaiyl Brinsley and both died shortly thereafter. But when the Mayor headed to the police press conference at the Woodhull hospital, officers can be seen on cell phone video literally turning away from the mayor as he passed by them. The NYC police officers union and many rank and file members have been critical of the way de Blasio has responded to the decision of a grand jury to not indict the officer involved in death of Eric Garner.
Now, there’s no question that many of them will blame the mayor and those who have been vigorously criticizing the police for today’s murders.
