Rick Perry Drops Out of the 2016 Race
Rick Perry is dropping out of the 2016 presidential race.
Perry is expected to make the announcement during a very policy-focused speech in St. Louis today, in which he’s already bashed President Obama and indirectly swiped at Donald Trump in talking about conservatives falling for “cult of personalities.”
In the prepared remarks sent out to reporters, Perry’s expected to say, “Today I am suspending my campaign for the presidency of the United States.”
The comments continue as Perry’s expected to speak of the “tremendous field” the Republican party has running for president and say, “I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservatism will be too.”
