Roger Stone Dings Bannon: I Asked Six People Who He Was and ‘None of Them Knew’
Roger Stone on why many Conservatives aren't defending Steve Bannon: "I asked 6 people on the way [here] who Steve Bannon is, and none of them knew. Every single one of them knew who @POTUS was, and every one of them knew about his efforts to make America great again." pic.twitter.com/UgxbKL3vmf

Breitbart chief Steve Bannon has suddenly seen himself marginalized in conservative circles after provocative comments he made in Michael Wolff’s tell-all book on the Trump White House were publicized earlier this week. President Donald Trump blasted his former chief strategist, stating that Bannon had “lost his mind.” Meanwhile, Bannon’s one-time financial backer Rebekah Mercer publicly rebuked him, and it’s been reported that Breitbart News may end up firing Bannon.
During a Thursday night appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Trump confidant and longtime advisor Roger Stone told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that the reason why conservatives aren’t coming to Bannon’s side is that the ex-White House senior aide is essentially a nobody.
“I asked 6 people on the way to the Fox studio here who Steve Bannon is, and none of them knew,” Stone said. “Every single one of them knew who Donald Trump was, and every one of them knew about his efforts to make America great again.”
Stone, who has met with Congressional investigators in the Russia probe, also dismissed Bannon’s description of Donald Trump Jr’s Trump Tower Russian meeting as “treasonous,” telling Carlson that the June 2016 meeting is a “nothingburger.”
