Rush Limbaugh Wins Children’s Book Award for Rush Revere

Rush Limbaugh is officially a children’s book award winner. The conservative radio host was honored Wednesday night with the Children’s Choice Book Award for author of the year, for his book Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.

The winners of Children’s Choice Book Awards are chosen by young people. As Limbaugh accepted the award, he said, “It’s one of the most fascinating stories in human history… and it’s a delight and it’s an opportunity to try to share that story with young people so they can grow and learn to love and appreciate the country in which they’re growing up and will someday run and lead and inherit.”

The Children’s Book Council came under fire earlier this year when Limbaugh was on its list of nominated authors, and they actually had to put out a statement clarifying that the nominating list is based on how well the books sell. Limbaugh reacted to that controversy by railing against “intolerant” liberals trying to get his nomination revoked.
