Russia Reportedly Blames U.K. For ‘Staging’ Chemical Attack in Syria

After a chemical attack on a town in western Syria left dozens dead last week, including children, the world awaited an explanation from Russia, ally of Bashar al-Assad, which has insisted his regime was not responsible for the attack.

Now we have it, and surprisingly, they are not blaming rebel groups. The Kremlin, according to the Associated Press, is pinning the attack on the Brits.

Per AP:

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov (pictured above), released statements by medics from Douma’s hospital who said a group of people toting video cameras entered the hospital, shouting that its patients were struck with chemical weapons and causing panic. The medics said none of the patients were hurt by chemicals.

Konashenkov said Friday that Britain was “directly involved in the provocation,” but didn’t elaborate or provide evidence.

How’s that for a false flag!

The BBC added that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed the chemical attack on “Russophobia”:

During a press briefing on Friday, Mr Lavrov said he had “irrefutable evidence” that the attack was staged as part of a “Russophobic campaign” led by one country, which he did not name.

According to AFP, the Russians said they have proof:

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday “we have proof that last week, chemical weapons were used — at least chlorine — by Bashar al-Assad’s regime.”

U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley echoed those sentiments on Friday, stating “we definitely have enough proof” Assad used chemical weapons — adding that Russia has a track record of covering up for the Syrian regime.
