Sarah Palin Makes Tons Of Money, Just Not From GOP Donors

From a financial standpoint quitting her Alaskan governorship last year was a genius move on Sarah Palin‘s part (probably from a media standpoint as well, but that’s another post). In less than a year Palin has earned more than $12 million (possibly much more) which, as ABC News points out, is 100 times her old salary.

However, when it comes to raising funds for a 2012 election, Palin is not so popular. According to Politico Palin raised $400,000 in the first three months of the year, which falls short of both Tim Pawlenty’s $566K in the first quarter, and Mitt Romney, $1.45 million. Of course it remains to be seen whether Palin’s PAC actually exists to fund a 2012 run for the former Gov. or merely to fund lesser known Republicans in their bid for office. Judging from the high wire praise Palin received from a number of bold-face Republicans, including Newt Gingrich and Mary Matalin, at last week’s SRLC the party appears to the be banking on Palin’s stumping power rather than her electability. I noticed that in terms of recognizable Americans abroad, Palin was well below Milhaus Van Houten, but above John Tesh. I don’t think that means much, and it certainly doesn’t diminish Palin’s capital amassing since she quit office, but it strikes me as an interesting trio.

It’s not exactly Algore kind of income, but it’s pretty hefty.

    As is Al.

She’s in it for the money. I mean – she’s not governing anything anymore. She’s not running for President anymore.

  • The Real Royal King

    Thanks Be to God!

Of course, that would have been a slam dunk for anyone running against her!

Palin should admit to herself that she really is not presidential material, and become the Queen maker of the tea party movement. They need an unimpeachably qualified person to become their main man. Nothing against Sarah, she is outstanding in her own way, but there is no way she should be taking on the stress of trying to run for President. That would be too nasty. The money is way better outside of that, and there is much more freedom to just be Sarah.

I don’t think she will run. Why take such a pay cut?

  • Barney

Awesome, Sarah> I hope you enjoy all that cash. Do something fun with it.

Buy a bunch of nice clothes. that’ll drive the leftards nuts!!

  • taxed

AHHHHH! The most offensive thing to a liberal, making money!

  • valkyrie101

Making money is cool, as long as all lawful taxes are paid.

    LOL

Lawful taxes , hell, patriotic taxes.

This woman has complained about taxes. When she was governor of Alaska.. Alaska get $1.84 of every dollar that is sent to the government.. She is a hypocrite and is now an elitist like the one’s she bashes.

  • ImNotBlue

Hmmm… do you think the left will ever figure out that “elitist” and “wealthy” are not synonyms?

Willful ignorance, that’s what you’d call it.

Sarah Palin had a substantial legal debt while governor, the result of nuisance lawsuits by Leftists. The suits were distracting her from her governor’s job. She had a competent lieutenant governor, Sean Parnell, who shared her views on issues. So she made a sensible decision and resigned.

She has vastly better judgment than the current President and is not fanatically driven to achieve Leftist dreams of an overpoweringly strong State that, presumably, does good works by alleviating the conditions of many on its bottom rungs. That goal is to be achieved by shifting financial resources in society, assuming the transfers of wealth will come from a static income pie.

In the meantime, the government will ring up ever larger debt as it seeks to push entitlement guarantees for all Americans, though some large consumers of entitlements will have their share shrunk, starting with the elderly. I know someone who had cardiac resynchronization therapy this past week, a way to describe trying to get the ventricles to expand and contract together, a problem for people with heart failure. Medicare paid for that; it likely will not in the future, if the Obamites have their way.

Ms. Palin champions a part of America that wants a more limited and more financially responsible government, which we have not had since . . . Ronald Reagan. She likely will not be President, but she would do a far better job than the demonstrably bigoted, ignorant, and fanatic Leftist now soiling the office. He is threatening the continued existence of Israel and has bungled relationships with governments friendly to America and those whose aims oppose ours, like Cuba’s, Iran’s, Venezuela’s, North Korea, and more.

    À bas l’infâme!
