Secret Service Director Julia Pierson has resigned from her position, following days of criticism over the agency’s mishandling of several security breaches.

Pierson's resignation announced by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson who says he accepted her resignation. USSS is part of DHS.

Joseph Clancy has been appointed the acting director of the agency by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.
Pierson faced a very public grilling yesterday from both Democrats and Republicans, and Democrats as high as Nancy Pelosi were calling for her resignation.
