Seriously? A Canadian Politician Is In Trouble For Tweeting A Picture Of His Penis This Weekend Too!

Ok, what the heck is going on? Is this some kind of mass-penis-related conspiracy? Is someone trying to redefine the term “flash mob?” While we here in America were spending our holiday weekend trying to figure out if Rep. Anthony Weiner tweeted a picture of his namesake at a college student (what a way for us all to commemorate the troops, right?), George Lepp, a Canadian politician, was embroiled in his own dick-pic scandal. Here’s where it gets crazy. Lepp’s picture, like Weiner’s, was uploaded onto his official Twitter account. It was then, like Weiner’s, quickly removed. Lepp, like Weiner, is claiming that the photo’s subject doesn’t belong to him and is blaming criminal activity (a stolen phone instead of a hacked account). And here’s the best part! The word “Lepp,” like “Weiner,” is a Canadian euphemism for a penis!

Yeah, ok, that last part isn’t true. Still a lot of similarities though, right?

Lepp is a candidate with the Progressive Conservatives who claims his phone was stolen after attending a convention in Ontario. Here’s his explanation from the Fort Erie Times:

“The candidate said he went down to his hotel’s parking lot around 10 p.m. on Saturday night to retrieve some Advil, planning to head to bed early.

While he did this, he said a group of people who he believes were attending some kind of comic book or Animé festival, dressed in elaborate costumes bumped into him… which is when he believes his phone was taken.

He didn’t realize until the morning it was missing, when he was going to call his son back home in Niagara-on-the-Lake, to see how things were on their farm.

Not knowing where the device had disappeared to at that point, he called his son from the land line inside the hotel and his son told him that around midnight, a friend informed him about the photo.

‘He told me a pornographic picture had been posted on my Twitter,’ Lepp told the Times on Tuesday.”

This story, like Weiner’s, has taken some odd turns. There was originally a quote published in the Toronto Sun attributed to Alan Sakach, communications director for the Ontario Conservatives, which claimed the picture was taken accidentally by the phone in Lepp’s pocket. This seemed very odd as the man in the photo seemed to be completely naked. Sakach now denies he gave the quote.

Whatever the case, this is the most news we’ve had about politicians’ “lepps” since the famous measuring contest at the 1988 Republican National Convention.
