Strongest Hurricane Ever Recorded Set To Hit Mexico
Meteorologists are warning that the strongest hurricane ever recorded is set to land in Mexico sometime on Friday.
Hurricane Patricia is classified as a Category 5 hurricane and is estimated to have winds reaching up to 200 mph. “Some fluctuations in intensity are possible today, but Patricia is expected to remain an extremely dangerous category 5 hurricane through landfall,” the U.S. National Hurricane Center announced.
Mexican authorities have issued a state of emergency, evacuating up to 50,000 and telling residents to do everything possible to weather the storm. The waves from the Pacific Ocean alone are expected to be disastrous, reaching heights of forty feet, but authorities are also warning about the possibility of storm surges, flash floods, and mudslides.
