Tea Partiers Go To Hollywood, Make ‘Documentary’
All things popular must eventually make their way to Hollywood (or thereabouts) so this news shouldn’t really suprise anyone. Just in time for Thanksgiving — when everyone will have some extra turkey recovery time on their hands — some enterprising filmmakers (and some well-known conservatives) have apparently whipped together Tea Party: The Documentary Film.
Lawrence O’Donnell showed a preview for the doc on The Rachel Maddow Show last night (video below), and actually what it reminds me most of is the 9/12 promo Glenn Beck used to show on his program last August. “It began as a ripple, an online whisper…” And no, this is not a spoof, though the fact one of the stars in the film is dressed in period revolutionary clothing makes that somewhat less easy to spot. Also, Dick Armey is apparently helping promote this. Trailer below, Rachel Maddow clip below that.

Anybody with a video camera, a DVD burner or who’s willing to contract for the service and a website can make and distribute a documentary. Obviously the backing of Dick Armey gets this thing more attention, but you can find you self-published documentaries on any subject and all Larry O’Donnell did was give it more publicity.
A smooth blend of Hatred and Ignorance – on the march. “Jesus is my co-pilot!!!”
Something tells me Nachi would have no problem if “Jesus” were replaced with “Mohammed.”
Enraged, Maddow Explains ‘Racist History’ Tea Party Is Embracing

Wow. Rachel Maddow will not be giving the Tea Partiers any sort of free pass and once you watch this you may understand why. Specifically, Maddow is criticizing (actually, she's eviscerating...no joke) what she calls the Tea Partiers "embrace of racist history" -- in this case, a call for the return of segregation-era literacy tests.
Stephen Colbert: ‘Sarah Palin is a F***king Retard’
The usually reliable Keith Olbermann's inability to nail Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin on Limbaugh's use of the term "retard" has been pretty frustrating. Sure, he has posited Palin as a hypocrite, but several times he has repeated Rush's and Palin's dueling assertions that he was "quoting" Rahm Emanuel, or that he was being "satirical," without really challenging it. Luckily, Stephen Colbert actually knows what the word "satire" means, and deployed a pile of it on Palin and Rush last night.
