Trump Calls on Dems to ‘Get Tough’ on Illegal Immigration After Fox & Friends Covers Death of NFL Player
President Donald Trump took to Twitter Tuesday morning to use the death of Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson — who was fatally struck by an car driven by an undocumented immigrant — to argue that Democrats need to get “tough on the Border.”:
So disgraceful that a person illegally in our country killed @Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson. This is just one of many such preventable tragedies. We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!

My prayers and best wishes are with the family of Edwin Jackson, a wonderful young man whose life was so senselessly taken. @Colts

Police say that the Indianapolis Colts linebacker and his Uber driver, Jeffrey Monroe, were killed by Manuel Orrego-Savala, a Guatemalan citizen living illegally in the U.S. after having been deported from the country twice. Orrego-Savala was suspected of driving drunk when he slammed into Jackson and Monroe after they pulled over on Interstate 70 in Indiana.
“The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry,” Rep. Todd Rokita, (R-IN), said in an online statement. “We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all.”
As you can see above, the topic came up on Fox & Friends today — which likely provided the inspiration for Trump’s tweet.
