Trump & VP Pick (Maybe Pence) Will Reportedly Give First Joint Interview to 60 Minutes
All the signs point to Mike Pence as Donald Trump‘s vice president, including the indications that the two have been booked for an interview together on 60 Minutes.
Though Trump says that the official announcement will be made tomorrow morning, the national politicosphere has blown up with news that Pence will drop his re-election effort as governor of Indiana to become Trump’s running mate. Now it seems that Trump and whoever he picks for VP (Pence is still unconfirmed) will follow up their morning event by sitting down with Lesley Stahl for an interview that will air this Sunday.
While 60 Minutes doesn’t usually confirm their segments until they are actually taped, Politico has received confirmation of the sit-down from CBS. This adds to the fact that Trump’s VP pick will appear on Fox’s Hannity tomorrow night.
Trump previously teased reporters about whether the interview would happen, but today’s news and separate confirmations of the 60 Minutes spot make it all the more likely that the team-up with Pence is all but official.
