Trump Will ‘Probably’ Run As An Independent If He Doesn’t Win GOP Nomination

Donald Trump continues on his breathless media tour and next up is the Wall Street Journal. In this somewhat contentious interview, Trump says he would not rule out running as a third party candidate and also reveals an issue that he feels uncomfortable talking about.

When asked what he would do if he ran and did not win the Republican nomination, Trump responds:

“The concern is that if I don’t win, will I run as an independent, and the answer is probably yes and that bothers me only from the standpoint that if I don’t win, we’re not going to get a Republican, and Obama gets re-elected.”

Trump also was grateful for Sarah Palin‘s recent kind words, saying she was “so nice and so gracious to me on the Birther issue.” Yet when Kelly Evans questioned whether Trump embodies “the worst of capitalism” and repeatedly asked Trump about allegations that some of his companies declared bankruptcy, Trump responded “don’t ask a stupid question like that, go ahead.”
