WATCH: New Video Shows the Moment MOAB Exploded in Afghanistan

The Pentagon has released video from the moment the so-called “Mother of All Bombs” exploded over an ISIS cave complex in Eastern Afghanistan. The blast made worldwide headlines yesterday as the largest nonnuclear bomb every deployed by the United States against a foreign enemy.

The footage was broadcast on MSNBC early Friday morning. Previously the only video of a MOAB explosion was decade-old test footage.

According to the Afghan government, 36 ISIS fighters were killed in the strike and a number of terrorist tunnels were collapsed. The attack, while lauded by many pundits in the United States, did come in for some criticism internationally, most prominently by former Afghan president Hamid Karzai, who called the strike, “brutal” and “inhuman.”
