Watch Ted Cruz Dodge the Abortion Criminalization Question

Sen. Ted Cruz was more deft in his handling of a question about abortion criminalization than Donald Trump.

Trump once again hijacked the news cycle with some incendiary remarks Wednesday, telling MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that there should be “some punishment” for women who get an abortion.

Cruz was able to dodge a question on the subject at the Jan. 2015 Iowa Freedom Summit, two months before he declared his candidacy for president. A reporter asked Cruz if doctors or women seeking abortions should be prosecuted, in the event that abortion becomes illegal.

Cruz averred his anti-abortion stance, but dodged the question twice. Check out the clip from C-SPAN above.
