What Are You Talking About?: Tapper Responds to Roger Stone Claiming CNN Canceled Interview

This evening, former Donald Trump adviser Roger Stone took to Twitter to claim that he was scheduled to appear on CNN tomorrow for an interview with anchor Jake Tapper. However, the network decided to nix the appearance, which apparently proved they were, indeed “fake news.”
CNN canceled my interview with @jaketapper tomorrow- further proof CNN is not a news organization but shameless purveyors of fake news
— Roger Stone (@RogerJStoneJr) February 14, 2017
This cancellation was obviously news to Tapper himself, who quickly responded, wondering just what the heck Stone was talking about.
@RogerJStoneJr respectfully, no one on my staff has any idea what you're talking about. With whom were you speaking?
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) February 14, 2017
To be honest, it would be pretty big news if CNN actually did allow Stone on the air, considering that they banned him from their airwaves last February over his history of racist and inflammatory tweets. Those tweets came to the network’s attention following his personal attacks against CNN contributor Ana Navarro.
Since then, Stone has regularly taken shots at the cable news channel. In an interview with Breitbart News in June of last year, he said Trump should pull the network off the air if he became president. In November, the Trump ally declared that InfoWars was “far more credible’ than CNN.
And, in a Mediaite interview last month, Stone rejoiced at Trump labeling the network “fake news” during a press conference, saying “they’re busted” and the “emperor has no clothes.”
