Sandra Bullock is backpedaling to condemn a PSA she made as part of the Restore the Gulf campaign. The PSA, called “Be the One,” features Bullock and other celebrities asking viewers to sign a petition to Congress demanding a fully funded restoration plan for the Gulf. Turns out, though, that the campaign is sponsored by an organization called America’s Wetland Foundation, which, despite the nice sounding name, is actually a greenwashing front group for big oil companies likes Shell, American Petroleum and, you guessed it, BP.

MTV hosted its annual Movie Awards last night, and it was its usual effervescent cocktail of entertaining self-mockery and pure promotion. While the show provided many watercooler moments, it was the rather hackneyed bit of Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johannson‘s lip-lock that raised the bushy eyebrows of CNN host Rick Sanchez. The daytime host of Rick’s List played the part of concerned father when he asked his Carol Costello how he’d explain two women kissing to a daughter sitting on his lap? Aghast!

In her most public appearance since the Jesse James story broke, Sandra Bullock accepted the Generation Award (a lifetime achievement award) at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards.

She received the largest standing ovation of the night, joked about how expensive therapy has been and kissed Scarlett Johansson.

While Sandra Bullock took her story to People magazine last month – and revealed she would divorce Jesse James after his infidelity came to light, and also had adopted a baby boy – her husband went to ABC News for his first comments on the matter.

ABC is taking its time rolling out the big get, with the first clip released today.

US Weekly has just released a photo that appears to show embattled reality television star Jesse James wearing what appears to be a Nazi-era military cap, and giving a Nazi salute. The husband of recent Oscar winner and popular actress Sandra Bullock has been in the news a lot lately, as news of extra-marital affairs have broken into the tabloids. New York Times columnist David Brooks is kicking Sandra Bullock when she’s down. In his op-ed today, he asks whether winning an Oscar but losing a husband was a worthy trade. Surprise: Brooks argues Bullock, and most Americans, make the wrong choice. And yes, by creating a false rivalry between career and social life, he implies that Bullock consciously made that decision. But even if she did, isn’t it a great trade-off?
