Barbara Walters Says ‘Erratic’ Donald Sterling Backed Out of Interview

Barbara Walters conducted a very strange interview last week with V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of the Donald Sterling controversy. And as Walters revealed on The View today, Sterling was going to do an interview too but ended up backing out.

Walters explained, “He was going to do an interview, then he didn’t, then he did. He went from caring about her to calling her names. He wouldn’t do the interview… so it’s very erratic. It’s hard to pin down.”

Walters was reportedly the only journalist Sterling had said he would do an interview with, and now the only reported comment Sterling’s given on the matter thus far is: “I wish I had just paid her off.”
