CNN’s Jim Sciutto, Poppy Harlow Host Their Show From NYC Streets After Evacuating Studio
CNN’s Jim Sciutto and Poppy Harlow delivered a live report from the streets of New York on Wednesday after they were forced to evacuate their studio.
The Time Warner Center — where CNN’s New York operation is based — was cleared out by the NYPD earlier Wednesday morning after a suspicious package was found inside the building. This comes after a number of suspicious packages were sent to the Clinton family, former president Barack Obama, and George Soros in the last few days.
CNN’s Rene Marsh picked up the network’s live broadcast from Washington after Harlow and Sciutto left, but the two anchors got on their phones and called in with the details on the situation outside the building. They described the evacuation, saying everyone managed to get out safely, even as authorities urged them to move further down the block.
“The police here saying ‘quick, quick, quick, move, move, move,'” Harlow said. “They want us not even across the street from CNN. They want us across the avenue, as far away from the building.”
The two continued to give details about the presence of emergency responders at the scene, saying the area has been shutdown to pedestrians.
