Congressman Uses Real Live Baby To Debate Against Health Care!

VIDEO

Picture 1Congressman John Shadegg of Arizona raised eyebrows this afternoon when he carried a baby to the microphone of the House of Representatives to debate against health care reform. In his one minute speech, the representative used the child to voice concerns about the bill’s cost, speaking as if he knew the thoughts of little Maddie. She “doesn’t want the government to take over health care,” Rep. Shadegg says, sometimes slipping into a baby voice and attributing every point of contention to a concern of Maddie’s. Shadegg is then reminded that he is not allowed to refer to guests of the House.

It’s as odd as it sounds! Check out the clip below:

I love how Maddie can’t get enough of that microphone. She totally fits in on that house floor.

I guess you missed the Democrat congressman who brought TWO children out. That’s not strange? Doesn’t raise eyebrows?

I did miss it. It’s Saturday! Link?

Well, it’s Saturday, like you said, and this is only only mention I could find:

Democrat Pete Stark brought up his two children, twins Andrew and Hannah (age 8), when he gave a speech supporting the health care bill.

“I encourage each of my colleagues to join me in voting yes and I can assure you these guys,” he said motioning to the kids, “aren’t going to have to pay for it in the future.”

Exactly! That is whole point of this. The Repubs know damn well that the Dems will the the majority for a pretty long while with this healthcare reform passage.

If it’s not his grand-daughter, where’d he get the kid?

Proof that Shadegg should have been…aborted. It’s never too late!

Come on guys… if you remember similar situations, you’ll disprove the argument too easily, and make the Democrats look as goofy as the Republicans. And do you really want to do that?! I mean, if they reported on things around here fairly and without overt bias, they’d have a hard time pushing their agenda! Only remember what helps the Democrats… fairness, ethics, honesty… not around these parts.

Enraged, Maddow Explains ‘Racist History’ Tea Party Is Embracing

    video

Wow. Rachel Maddow will not be giving the Tea Partiers any sort of free pass and once you watch this you may understand why. Specifically, Maddow is criticizing (actually, she's eviscerating...no joke) what she calls the Tea Partiers "embrace of racist history" -- in this case, a call for the return of segregation-era literacy tests.

Stephen Colbert: ‘Sarah Palin is a F***king Retard’

The usually reliable Keith Olbermann's inability to nail Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin on Limbaugh's use of the term "retard" has been pretty frustrating. Sure, he has posited Palin as a hypocrite, but several times he has repeated Rush's and Palin's dueling assertions that he was "quoting" Rahm Emanuel, or that he was being "satirical," without really challenging it. Luckily, Stephen Colbert actually knows what the word "satire" means, and deployed a pile of it on Palin and Rush last night.
