Epic Late Night Ice Cream Battle Between Fallon And Colbert Turns Into Musical Number
When we first heard Jimmy Fallon was going to be getting his own Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, Late Night Snack, we noted that he was following up Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream. What we didn’t guess, however, was how hilariously insane The Colbert Report’s response would be. Even if we had predicted Colbert doing a segment on it, we never would have predicted a 10 minute, trippy, musical epic featuring appearances by Fallon, Jon Stewart, and the ice cream magnates themselves Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield!
It began with Colbert dissing Fallon’s new flavor which prompted the Late Night host to appear. The two then began some competitive trash talk with Colbert saying Late Night Snack was like a Jimmy Fallon SNL sketch (“You get half way through, start laughing, and can’t finish it!”) while Fallon said Americone Dream was a “good palette cleanser for Tosh.0.” Next, Stewart appeared to help beat Fallon with a baseball bat.
Wait, fighting Colbert and Stewart? Jimmy Fallon really is following up Conan O’Brien.
Colbert and Fallon then had an ice cream-eating race. Then, things got weird. They entered a cartoon “hallucination” filled with bad puns and got chased by a demon ice cream cone that shot lasers until Cohen and Greenfield persuaded them to sing a song about friendship.
Basically it was your typical talk show segment.
