Fmr WH Spox to Baier on Benghazi: ‘Dude, This Was Like Two Years Ago’
by Josh Feldman | 7:32 pm, May 1st, 2014
Former White House national security spokesman Tommy Vietor squared off with Fox News’ Bret Baier Thusday over the new Benghazi e-mail, and when Baier repeatedly grilled Vietor over whether the White House changed talking points on the attack, he responded, “Dude, this was like two years ago.” Baier confronted Vietor on why the e-mail released this week was not released along with others months ago. Vietor admitted he didn’t know, but said it doesn’t matter because “it tells us nothing new.”
Baier pushed Vietor on the talking points and prepping Susan Rice for her appearance on the Sunday shows about said talking points. He Baier pointed to prior reports about line changes and asked Vietor if they changed tactics. Vietor said he wasn’t sure, and when Baier pressed him, he said, “Dude, this was like two years ago.”
Baier shot back, “Dude it is the thing that everybody’s talking about!”
Vietor told Baier it’s ridiculous for people to be so preoccupied with the editing of talking points because bureaucrats on every level do just that.
