Fox & Friends Hits ‘Thin-Skinned’ WH Response To Woodward ‘Rampage’: This ‘Changed The Entire Equation’
Fox & Friends turned their attention to the “thin-skinned” White House on Thursday, pointing to the threat Bob Woodward said he received after his reporting on the sequester being the White House’s idea (while they try to push the blame more toward Republicans). Woodward isn’t a journalist who makes this stuff up, they agreed.
Specifically, Woodward said he received an email from a top White House official saying, “You will regret doing this.” An aide said the email was not a threat and sought to point out that Woodward’s assertion would be proved incorrect in the end.
The ordeal prompted Brian Kilmeade to ask, “Are they that confident in the White House that Bob Woodward is not writing this down and will not hop in front of a television” and talk about getting threatened?”
“This White House is one of the most thin-skinned White Houses ever,” Steve Doocy responded. “Bob Woodward is one of the lions of journalism. He doesn’t make stuff up. If he says that the White House has moved the goal post, they’ve moved the goal post.”
But it’s deeper than just being thin-skinned, Gretchen Carlson asserted. “This is now Bob Woodward on a rampage,” she said, citing Woodward’s assertions that Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush wouldn’t have threatened or used scare tactics. “Very interesting. I think this has changed the entire equation.”
Pointing to a tweet from White House adviser David Plouffe (“Perfection gained once is rarely repeated”), Kilmeade asserted, “They’re saying he’s washed up and crazy!”
